COMPLETE ENLIGHTENMENT SÙTRA: CHAPTER 11 –PERFECT ENLIGHTENMENT BODHISATVA

COMPLETE ENLIGHTENMENT SÙTRA: CHAPTER 11 –PERFECT ENLIGHTENMENT BODHISATVA

COMPLETE ENLIGHTENMENT SÙTRA

I heard like this:

At one time, Buddha Entered the Right-Meditation named Great Light Treasure of Ubiquitous Supernatural Power. That treasure is the place that keeps brilliantly the solemnity of all Buddhas, and also the Nature-of-Enlightenment-Wisdom which is very transparent and pure of all kinds of satvas. Buddha Entered this Right-Meditation, so his Body and Mind were very quiet, identical with the ubiquitous universe nature, which means to be consistent with Non-Duality. This Non-Duality represents Pure world where Buddha and Ten Thousand  Mahàsatvas with the leaders such as Manjusri Bodhisatva, Samantabhadra Bodhisatva, Universal Vision Bodhisatva, Vajragarbha Bodhisatva, Maitreya Bodhisatva, Pure Wisdom Bodhisatva, Power and Virtue Unhindered Bodhisatva, Voice of Discernment Bodhisatva, Purifier of All Karmic Hindrances Bodhisatva, Universal Enlightenment Bodhisatva, Perfect Enlightenment Bodhisatva and Most Excellent of Worthies Bodhisatva; these Bodhisatva and their entourage, entered the  Right-Meditation, so they joined the Equal-Dharma-Congress of Buddha.

 CHAPTER 11 – PERFECT ENLIGHTENMENT BODHISATVA

 At that time, Perfect Enlightenment Bodhisatva was among The mass, from his seat stood up, then worshiped with his forehead as high as Buddha’s feet, according to the right side of Buddha, walked around Buddha three times, kneeled straight, joined his hands and said:

Buddha with great compassion, YOU taught us widely about the means of bright-transparent complete enlightenment, making people in the final period also have benefits enormously increased.

Buddha, currently we have been enlightened, but when YOU have already entered nirvàna, in the final period, how should those who have not been enlightened set up varsà-mandala to conduct-practice complete enlightenment? What is the first way to practice the three sides of bright-transparent dhyàna-contemplation of complete enlightenment? I would like to respectfully ask Buddha, with great compassion, to teach us those things, giving this mass, and subsequent generations, the huge benefits.

After saying that, Perfect Enlightenment Bodhisatva put his five body parts on the ground to worship Buddha. Bodhisatva made that request three times in that posture respectfully, after each time of request he started over again.

Then, Buddha taught Perfect Enlightenment Bodhisatva:

Very well, Good Son, You can ask Tathàgata about such means of complete enlightenment, devoting great benefits to satvas. You should listen carefully, Tathagàta will expound.

Perfect Enlightenment Bodhisatva felt glad and together with The mass listened quietly.

Buddha taught:

Good Son, in the period when Tathàgata is still in this life, or in the period when Tathàgata has entered nirvàna, or in the last period of Buddha-Dharma, all the people who have Mahayana seed nature, believe and want to conduct  great complete enlightenment that Tathàgata realize and is enlightened to, who live in the pagoda, if there’s work to take care of buddhist clergy and believers, depending on their ability, think about Dhyàna-contemplation according to the ways that Tathagata taught before. If there is not any work, set up mandala for tranquil dwelling, with three terms: the long-term with one hundred and twenty days, the medium-term with a hundred days, the short-term with eighty days. The method is that if Tathagata is still in this life, think exactly about Tathagata, if Tathagata has entered Nirvàna, hang banners, arrange flowers, design–decorate the image of Tathagata, the heart concentrates on that image, the eyes look thoroughly, and then close the eyes to imagine that image, the mind-citta think and remember accurately Tathagata,  it is just like the time Tathagata was still in this life. Spending three weeks seven days, worship the Great Names of Buddhas of the Ten directions, earnestly repent, if able to feel good phenomena then the mind-citta is relaxed. After three weeks seven days, still continuously focus on thinking to conduct- practice the first ways of the three Dhyàna-contemplation.

If during the above term there is the first season of the three varsà months, must comply with the bright-transparent varsà of Bodhisatva, by means of, in citta, separating from Sravakas, not basing on the mass. On the Varsà date, face Tathagata’s image to say like this: Now I’m the Buddhist monk, or Buddhist nun, upàsaka, upàsikà, named like this, vow to get support from Bodhisatva Vehicle to conduct tranquility-elimination-actions to be able to together enter bright-transparent true form. Because Nirvàna nature doesn’t depend on anywhere, I vow to take great complete enlightenment as the place of self-pagoda, both body and mind-citta dwell tranquilly in that equal complete enlightenment. I respectfully ask not to depend upon Sràvakas, only get support from all Buddhas and Mahàsatva to dwell tranquilly for three months, and because of great reason that is to conduct-practice supreme complete enlightenment like Bodhisatvas who are conducting, so I don’t depend on the mass.

Good son, doing like that is setting up Mandala for tranquil dwelling, and each year, when one of the three terms has already ended, can leave or stay.

Good son, people in the final period  follow the path of Bodhisatva, step into one of the three terms of Varsà, any phenomenon that is not what they have heard of, they absolutely should not accept it.

Good son, people who conduct utmost quiescence Samatha, first hold the silence, by not emerging all thinking and remembering, when quiescence is maximum, enlightenment emerges. This first silent status develops from one self to a world, then the enlightenment status also develops like this. The enlightenment status is throughout one world, then in that world, can know if any satva emerges any thinking. The Silence and enlightenment status throughout hundreds or thousands of worlds is also the same. But any phenomenon that is not what they have heard of, they absolutely should not accept it.

Good son, anyone who conducts Utmost Active Samàdhi, firstly think of Tathagata and Mahàsatva of the Ten Directions, base on the esoteric tantric sects and methods Dharani of Buddhas that They have sequentially conducted-practiced about Vìrya (effort and enthusiasm),Duskara-carya (undergoing suffering) and  Dhyàna-contemplation, make high-minded vows, then by himself gather-practice into his own personality… But any phenomenon that is not what they have heard, they absolutely should not accept it.

Good Son, people who conduct Dhyàna Utmost Maturity, firstly hold calculation, by in the citta knowing clearly the quantity of thinking that arise, exist and terminate. Keep on like that, all moves such as going-standing-lying-sitting know clearly the quantity of thinking, no thinking is not known. Then sequentially go ahead, until knowing a drop of rain in hundreds of thousands of worlds exactly the same as seeing things before the eyes. But any phenomenon that is not what they have heard, they absolutely should not accept it.

Like that are the first ways of three Dhyàna-contemplation. Who conducts throughout all the three Dhyàna-contemplation diligently and enthusiastically, for that one Tathagata appears.

In the final period, people who have slow intellectual level, if wanting to pray wisdom-enlightenment but unable to get achievement, that’s because the previous karma causes hindrances. They have to repent diligently, always hope, and before that have to eliminate hatred, love, jealousy, and flattery, and practice supreme mentality. Then of the three Dhyàna-contemplation, depending on ability, conduct one. If that One Dhyàna-contemplation is not achievable, conduct another Dhyànacontemplation. Determined not to leave, not to let go, pray for realization and enlightenment sequentially.

Buddha would like to repeat the expounded meaning so he said the following words:

Perfect Enlightenment should know,
if Satvas want to pray
supreme enlightenment wisdom,
firstly they must
define one
of the three terms.
Then for the first three weeks
of each term,
they must repent
the long-standing karma;
then think
accurate dhyàna-contemplation
(but any phenomenon
not what they heard,
they absolutely
should not accept):
utmost quiescence dhyàna-contemplation
maximum-quiescence,
Utmost Active dhyàna-contemplation
Thinking-remembering exactly,
Utmost Maturity dhyàna-contemplation
counting clearly.
That’s the first way
of the three dhyàna-contemplation;
diligently conduct-practice all
like Buddha appears.
if with low intellectual level
conducting-practicing with no achievement,
must be hard-working and take pains
to repent karma;
karmas  evaporate
Buddha scene appears./.
